Hong Kong Disneyland

This is the fifth theme park worldwide from Disney and it threw its entertainment doors open in September of 2005. You'll find the crowds, both the locals and the tourists, descending on it in droves at its location on Lantau Island in Penny's Bay. It has been built on land that has been reclaimed. Like the other Disneyland parks, there are themed parks here too and you'll find four of them: Fantasyland, Tomorrowland, Adventureland and Main Street, USA.

You'll find that Hong Kong Disneyland isn't spread out over a very wide area like the other Disney parks are, but there appear to be expansion plans in the future. There's a lot to do in the parks as they stand today, and there have been recent additions like the UFO Cool Zone, Stitch Encounter, and Autopia.

Like the other parks, you'll find Disney characters in Hong Kong wandering around, and they are a great source of amusement for the kids, not to mention being able to take photographs with them to preserve your memories of the time you spend there. You'll find all the sights from Paris and Anaheim - only in a setting where you will hear a lot of Chinese being spoken!

Fantasyland is as the name suggests, a land of enchantment, with a drawbridge that leads you to "once upon a time" land where everyone is meant to live happily ever after'. The castle is where Sleeping Beauty lives. This is for the young at heart, a magical place where fairy tales come to life, where wishes seem like they can't help but come true. You'll also find Mickey's PhilharMagic, a wonderful 3-D experience, and Winnie the Pooh with his Honey Pot to take you through the Hundred Acre Wood. The kids of course love a spin on the Cinderella Carousel.

You can drive through Autopia in an electric car or pilot your flying saucer in Orbitron and of course you have the ever popular Buzz Lightyear Journey to Infinity and Beyond as well as the Mountain roller coaster in Tomorrowland. Space Traffic Control where Stitch battles with his arch enemy Gantu in Stitch Encounter is a 4-D experience and another very popular destination. So is the new UFO Cool Zone where it's a waterworld of fun and the UFO stands for "unbelievably fun objects."

Adventureland has its Tarzan Island and its Jungle River Cruise and one of the main attractions is the Festival of the Lion King at Theater in the Wild.

Main Street U.S.A in Hong Kong is very much like the one in California and you have the Paddy Wagon, the Omnibus, and a theater. There's also a Disney Parade every day here as well as through Fantasyland.

In true "perfect day" Disney tradition, the day explodes into a wonderful fireworks ending. The crowds throng to this entertainment hub and the company expects the visitor count to go up to 10 million a year.
